Postdoctoral position in basic and translational diabetes research

Job ID:
EMP01

Date Created: January 21, 2020 - 3:54pm

Come join our team! A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Laura Alonso, MD studying the fundamental biology of the pancreatic beta cell. We study the fascinating intersection of endoplasmic reticulum stress sensors, nutrient signaling, insulin synthesis and beta cell number, towards the long-term goal of tackling diabetes at its core- the loss of pancreatic insulin production capacity. We use a variety of innovative mouse genetic models and dynamic metabolic-physiological tests, primary cell culture models, and human pancreatic tissue from organ donors. Multiple projects and abundant resources are available.

Requirements:

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, kind, creative, self-motivated and a team player. We are looking for people who ask big questions and aspire to greatness. A graduate degree is required; prior experience with diabetes or mouse models is not. Please send a cover letter, your CV and three references to Dr. Laura Alonso at lca4001@med.cornell.edu
